"the wink and the gun" she tries to pull this "cute" move when we are getting on to her. it only worked the first time, we couldn't help but laugh. it hasn't worked since, but she's persistent.
the "are you kidding me?" she will quickly find out that no, in fact, we are not kidding you.
the "my very tender feelings have been (briefly) hurt by your request for me to obey" don't fall for it.
the "i'm just going to close my eyes and tune them out" this one is rather annoying when needing to make eye contact to get one's point across. a child's eyes don't have to be open in order for a parent to get their point across to a little bottom.
the "i'm way smarter than these people and i will get away with it" not likely kid, not likely.
the "last resort" we can still see past the cute smile and it's equally as annoying as the "closing the eyes" trick. the smile is the same tactic of pure ignoring as closing the eyes. you can just sit there and smile and pretend you're not in trouble, but that smile won't last long!
classic!! you guys crack me up!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post! Olyvia has slightly different faces, but the general themes are the same. And all annoying!
ReplyDeleteConsidering how pleasant I was as a child, I'm guessing this is all payback for the way Jamie acted when SHE was younger. ???
those are great faces you captured, and great captions. kids will try anything to get out of discipline/consequences, won't they?
ReplyDeleteby the way, I was just thinking of you the other day and wondering if you all were still going without the tv. at least twice a day, i am DYING for a break and want so badly to turn on the TV for them (and often do) and then I think of Eva and you and how you would probably just find something creative to do with her instead.
It's so hard, though. :)

p.s. so excited to see that baby ticker number get smaller and smaller!
annie- i only wish i was half the mother that you believe i am. my extent of creativity is picking a new cartoon for eva to watch!
ReplyDeletetim- that's hilarious! i'm sure jamie was a real "hell-raiser"!
Love those faces! They remind me of some of the faces her daddy tried to use!
ReplyDeleteLove you
Nanny
