i'm a survivor

okay, really it's "we are survivors" as in shaun and me. and eva, i suppose, in a different way. it looks as if we are out of the woods so to speak of a very long and nasty "terrible two's tantrum hike" ("hike" of course to go along with the woods theme i am choosing to go with here). i know we are not out of the woods completely, probably more like in a nice green meadow surrounded by dark, thick, scary woods, like the kind in the movie "the princess bride" with all the nasty creatures and bubbling swamps. anyway, what i am saying with a very lame woodsy metaphor is that we have been through a nasty month of day after day bad tantrums and just yesterday our sweet little girl reappeared, and out of nowhere i might add, and she was still here today! praise the lord, 2 good days in a row. we are still alive and eva is still alive. so lift your hiking canteens high for a toast to this nice break from the tantrum sasquatch, and frolic with us in this beautiful green, lush meadow, before we head back into the treacherous woods, whenever that may be...(insert mysterious, slightly scary music here). oh yeah, and we did see a real owl today in the real woods (not the metaphorical woods, but the real woods!). and of course another unrelated picture of eva. she's smiling and that's a good thing.

  1. What's with you and trees? Anyway.

Our "devil child period" started last week and has continued into this week as well. To be honest with you, I read this post and found myself hoping that our "devil child period" only lasts a month as well. I was afraid it lasted the entire year!!! As you probably know, hiking is something I try to avoid unless stranded, but I will raise my bottle of zanex in toast! : ) Congratulations!

Believe it or not there is life after the terrible two's...but be warned you will see hints of this time again during the "pre-teen" years, mostly in the 15th year, but have faith this to shall pass!

    Love you guys.

    I don't believe that I saw that
    precious smile when I was
visiting. But I sure did enjoy
seeing it today. Honey if you think life will be all roses after this, wake up and smell the flowers, she will be a precious
    teenager. Remember your sister.ha
