we now own a one-year-old

so we have owned eva for an entire year and survived. for a long time it kind of felt like i was permanently babysitting a baby whose mother just was not coming to pick her up. well if that mythical woman decides to come pick her up some day, i think we'll just go ahead and keep her. of course i have a strange feeling that i might be that mythical woman! anyway, we can't believe a year has gone by already. eva is such a blessing and a joy and she continues to amaze us everday. her party was very small (eva, shaun, mimi, and me). she didn't seem to crazy about the cake, probably because it was past her bedtime! she was spoiled with all kinds of presents from all of her relatives. she now has more toys and clothes than we know what to do with! so here are eva's stats for the year:

• at birth she weighed 8lb 1oz, she now weighs 22lbs 4 oz
• at birth she was 20 3/4 in long, she is now 31 3/4 in (above 95th percentile)
• her head is now 18 in around (above 95th percentile, big.) her doctor tried nonchalantly to ask us if either of us wear a large hat size (no!) and then said we'll just keep an eye on it. well now that is a red flag if i've ever seen one! what is he trying to say?? she is going to be a giant head! before long she will just be toppling over like a weeble wobble with legs.
• now i don't remember any other stats. i'm thinking about the weeble wobble.
• oh yeah, she is learning a lot of baby sign language. it is so cute to watch her communicate with us in another way besides whining.
• no walking yet, no big deal.
• that's all i can think of. to summarize, she is pretty darn neato.
