a short trip down the long stairs and some other lily randomness

this girl is irresistible. i just love her so much. 

here she is wearing what she calls her "morning-cap". it started out last night as her "nightcap" but she decided it was too uncomfortable to sleep in so she told shaun "daddy, this is too uncomfortable to be my nightcap, i'm going make it my morning-cap".  

she also has stars tattooed on her hand. frog jammies on. and bunny slippers. and of course she is carrying around an empty tissue box. 

but, on to her short trip down the long stairs...

a few weeks ago she was playing with one of her old ride on toys (for babies) and drug it up the stairs. i told her not to ride it around upstairs because claire was napping.

a few minutes later eva and i heard and loud crash and lily started crying. we ran to the basement doorway to see lily lying on the floor with her ride on toy on top of her. thankfully she was fine.

then i asked her if she tried to ride it down the stairs. she whimpered a "yes". i just started laughing. i couldn't believe she tried to ride that toy from the very top step.  amazingly she only had a little carpet burn bruise on her forehead.

so when she got this little scoot bike for christmas i didn't find it unreasonable whatsoever to tell her that she was strictly forbidden to try and ride it down the stairs!

so far she has complied.

but she still slides down the stairs on her bottom every single time she goes down the stairs. ouch.

look at that sweet little squinty-eyed face with a little carpet burn bruise on her forehead! this is her the other night in the tub with claire. any time i start the bath water for claire, lily comes running in and immediately starts stripping off her clothes and climbing in the tub. even if i tell her she can't take a bath with claire she'll still say "i know, i'm just taking my clothes off." and then she still tries to get in.

i am also loving hearing her prayers lately. the other night there was a lot of "and Lord, help us to have soft hearts, and Lord help me not to throw fits, and Lord thank you for us being in your image...and Lord..."

she still yells a lot at night in her sleep and she can throw a pretty respectable fit but she is super sweet, super sensitive towards others, super thoughtful, and super loving. 

i sure do love this girl.
