how about some more randomness for this lovely friday?
eva made a fantastic rocket ship yesterday, complete with flames, a door and people. i love her imagination.
on the subject of eva:
it's hard to believe she will be done with kindergarten in just one month! pretty crazy. she has changed over the school year. her attitude is somewhat different (good and bad), she's taller, more brave, and smarter. it's fun to see her read and it has been fun to see her imagination and playing skills grow.
she is such an incredible girl with so many gifts. she is also pretty serious and uptight (uptight like her parents!), she is very cautious (still), she is quite bossy to lily and is always telling her what to do, how to play, etc. she can also be pretty funny and very loving. i can't wait to see how the Lord grows her with her unique personality.
we could definitely use prayer for us and for eva as we love her and guide her and discipline her. she has become a lot more challenging lately and has developed quite an attitude. most days after school she is very grumpy (probably from being tired and hungry) and a lot of times is very contrary and talks back a lot. i'm sure most people would say all of these things are normal for a girl her age but when you throw these things in with a kid who is already kind of serious and uptight it makes for a challenging combination. shaun and i are trying to learn how to handle her. please pray for her heart to be softened and our hearts to be soft towards her. and for wisdom for shaun and me.
and on to more randomness, another cute smile from claire. wonder what kind of personality she will have?
and after talking yesterday about lily's potty training difficulties, today i convinced her to wear a pull up and she peed on the potty three times! of course this doesn't really mean anything, she has done this before. but it is a step in the right direction, right? she also asked about going poop on the potty but then changed her mind. that would have been awesome. i told her if she did that we would get her ice cream. she still wasn't sold.
who wants to hear more about poop and pee? me neither.
speaking of lily, here is a cute thing she said to our friend karen from church (who lily LOVES, by the way). shaun took lily to the bathroom at the restaurant on sunday and lily came back to the table and told karen: "and i wasn't even afraid because God's love is with us!"
do you want to know about charlie the cat? he has chewed up two of claire's pacifiers. he ate one of the tips of one pacifier. three days later he barfed it up. surely that had to have taken up one of his 9 lives. one can hope. darned cat.
and shaun, what can i say about him. he's cute. and today he is finishing reading a really long and boring book. he also took eva to school today in the bike trailer. madison is such a cool place to live.
and me? just livin' the dream people, just livin' the dream.
