ahhh yes, mother's day.

i feel like my blog is becoming my own personal confessional. thanks for listening people.

so here goes. it's mother's day so lets start with the fluffy good stuff.
i am so thankful for my mom and love her so very much. there are many other wonderful things i could say about her here but i already wrote them in a card that our fantastic postal service failed to deliver to her on time. so she gets to read it all tomorrow, hopefully. (isn't she beautiful?)

more fluffy good stuff. i am blessed to be the mommy to these three little sweet peas.

see what eva made me at school? love it.

and the flowers delivered to me? beautiful!

just look at them! angels. precious little girls.

confession time. the picture below is much more accurate of how i have felt today.

lily threw her worst fit yet this morning before church. we are talking a couple hours worth of screaming and crying. by the way, shaun and eva leave early for church so it's just me, lily and claire at home. here is a summary in bullet points of how things went down:
  • me physically holding lily in time out
  • claire screaming and crying through my shower time
  • feed claire
  • dry my hair
  • more fit throwing from lily
  • lily refuses to put on pull up and dress i have ready for her
  • i attempt to wrestle the pull up and dress on lily
  • lily is much stronger and more persistent than i realized
  • i finally snapped and yelled at lily, a lot
  • we were both psycho for a while
  • me sweating bullets in my church clothes
  • i finally threatened her that i would take her to church naked if she wouldn't put the clothes on
  • lily got in the van in a t-shirt only
  • i wrestled her into her car seat
  • claire still screaming
  • lily decides to at least put the pull up on
  • claire is still screaming
  • lily is still throwing a fit and trying to get out of her seat belt
  • i am speeding to church out of anger
  • we arrive at church so shaun can dress lily in the parking lot
  • claire squirms through church
  • claire cries all the way home
  • lily goes down for a nap
  • i go buy wine
  • happy mother's day.

  3. You and your mom are BOTH beautiful! Happy Mother's Day to both of you!
Sunday mornings are SOOO tough. I'm sure you've heard this before, but we always try to lay out Sunday outfits the night before so that any whining and complaining and arguments can take place the night before and are out of the way. (ideally).
In fact, we've had to dedicate our Saturday nights to Sunday preparation since Cosette was born. We spend several hours having everyone (including me) take showers/baths, laying out our clothes, preparing the offering and Sunday bag and snacks, diaper bag, purse....etc, etc. I've even started setting the breakfast table and preparing Sunday lunch ahead of time on Saturday night so taht all we have to do is get up, put our clothes on, eat what has been laid out (cereal) and get out the door to church.

....and with ALL THAT PREPARATION (which takes HOURS of dedication giving up our Saturday night)....with ALL THAT....we MIGHT make it to Sunday school on time! :)

    Ah....life with little ones.
But we will miss it one day.

    Hope you enjoyed your wine!
    And your Mother's Day.

    Love you!
