Get ready for a little backtracking and randomness...
First off a confession: the first and last bath Claire had was the bath they give newborns at the hospital. She is now 12 days old and has not had a sponge bath, not even a sprinkle of water. Her umbilical cord fell off today so tonight she has earned her first bath. Poor third child. At least I have fed her and changed her diaper.
Moving on. Our mom's have been here over the past two weeks. What huge helps they have been. Nanny was here for the first week and then Mimi was here for the second week and just left this morning. I can't begin to express how big of a help they were for us. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, holding Claire, etc. Thank you both so very much. We greatly appreciate all you have both done for us!
Continuing on with randomness. Here is my last pregnancy picture before we left for the hospital at 4 a.m.
39 weeks 2 days!
Here I am before things got really "fun". If you want to be really popular at the hospital with all the nurses and doctors buy yourself some bunny slippers and then make 500 laps around the hallway. The bunny slippers were a big hit.
Some hospital pics:
Claire fairly fresh out of the tummy.
Sweet pic. We have one very similar to this when Lily was born.
Claire getting her first bath. And as of right now it was her last bath. Poor baby.
Snuggling with her amazing daddy.
Daddy and his 3 girls. This is when they first met Claire.
Great Aunt Ne-Ne with little Claire. Hopefully Aunt Ne-Ne isn't scarred for life after witnessing the birth. :)
Claire crying.
In her little bed at the hospital. With scratches on her face. The girl has some claws. I already tried to trim them and of course I cut her thumb. I think I will just wait until her teeth come in and she can bite her own nails off. It will be safer that way.
First pic of me and Claire before we left the hospital.
Getting ready to go home.
Didn't like it at first but then settled right in!
That's it for now!
