the easter that almost wasn't

our easter morning started at 3:30 a.m. when lily was calling for me. shaun went in while i stayed in bed and found out she had thrown up.  once again, mother of the year award goes to shaun for responding when lily wanted mommy.  after a change of sheets and pj's everyone was settled back in bed.

4:02 a.m. we hear noises again. i go in the room and lily is standing by her bed saying "mommy, yucky. mommy, yucky." yes, more throw up. another change of sheets and pj's and we are all settled back in bed again.

4:38 a.m. we hear eva yell "lily threw up AGAIN!" more of lily saying "mommy, yucky!" more clean sheets, more clean pj's, wipe lily's barfy smelling hair, avoid wet spot on rug by lily's bed, put eva in the spare bed up in the loft and we are all settled back in bed.


6:15 a.m. we hear lily, much happier, saying "where eba at?" the little stinker was already awake! thankfully we were able to stay in bed until 6:54 a.m. then we got lily up and she walked up to my side of the bed and said "mommy, i go poopy." and boy did she ever! after all that she seemed fine somehow. this was the first time she has thrown up besides spitting up as a baby.

so after an interesting and very early start to easter sunday the girls found that the easter bunny had left baskets outside the front door.  lily promptly ate every candy from all her eggs. after easter baskets we got dressed and grabbed the two pans of homemade cinnamon rolls and headed off to a brunch at the church. brunch was yummy!


after brunch we had our easter church service where i attempted to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior from the church nursery.  thankfully our nursery is right off of the room where we worship so i was able to hear a little bit of the music.

after church we came home and quickly took the obligatory family easter photos since we were all wearing happy spring colors. now we are home for a restful day and a yummy dinner later this evening. and lily is napping, thankfully. and i am so very glad we didn't have to miss church because of a barfy little girl.
