33. thirty three.

so far 33 isn't too bad. it was a good first day at this new age.

i woke up to lily telling me happy birthday, followed by eva, and then shaun.

they gave me a card with a gift certificate for a spa pedicure (if you saw my feet you would thank them too for such thoughtful gift!) which i intend to use as soon as the temp reaches 65 ~ maybe in mid june? we'll see. anyway, great gift!

one of my desires on this my 33rd birthday was to do a 5k at the gym for a workout today. during this exhilarating workout i was reminded that i am in fact a 33 year old woman who has given birth twice and that i must be mindful to not pee my workout shorts while attempting to cough and run at the same time. too much information? it's okay, it's my birthday.

we ate lunch at chipotle and then walked around the mall and bought a birthday present for lily who turns 2 tomorrow. she is partly to blame for the near mishap at the gym.

to top of this birthday we had dinner and had peanut butter cookies that i thugged helped myself to from entry area of the leasing office here at our apartments. yum.

and to end my 33rd birthday the checkout lady at target kind of cracked me up. i went there to get things to make cupcakes for lily. here was the conversation:

thoughtful target checkout lady: it looks like you are making cupcakes for a party!

me: yes, tomorrow is my little girl's birthday and today is my birthday.

thoughtful target checkout lady: oh! is your husband getting a babysitter and taking you out to dinner for your birthday?

me: no. but they got me a gift certificate for a pedicure!

not-as-thoughtful-as-i-thought-target checkout lady: well, it's the thought that counts.

me: well, i like what they got me. i like pedicures. it's a good gift.

really-not-so-thoughtful-target checkout lady: you should have a manicure too.

me: yeah. okay. thanks.
