Guest Post...4 Year Old Theology episode II

So this is Shaun... You'll be able to tell because of the capital letters (hey, Danielle has her style, I've got mine). You will also notice the distinct absence of a really good picture.

Danielle is at the beach tonight while I am home with the girls. It isn't exactly a vacation for her (she is helping a photographer friend with a photo shoot) but it is her first night away from Lily since the first day that little cutie took root, so to speak. Danielle can write more about all of that if she likes, I am just sneaking in a post to update everyone on Eva's theological progression since the last prayer Danielle posted. By the way, I was only mildly horrified by the "bowing down to statues" thing, I took it in stride, more or less... So tonight I asked Eva if she wanted to do the  bedtime prayer (while taking a deep breath and hoping that all of the attempts to clarify things since the last time have paid off). She did want to pray and here is what transpired:

Dear God, thank you for a beeeaaauutiful day.

And please help Jonah to start being nice (editors note: we watched a cartoon about Jonah while I attempted to stuff Lily with as much pre-night-night food as possible since there would be no nursing...Daddy can only do so much).

And God, please help us to eat lots of carrots and drink water and to eat healthy. Amen. Oh wait Daddy I forgot about the apples. God, please help us to eat apples too. Amen.

Now I'm not trying to say she has moved on to a perfect articulation of Chalcedonian Christology or anything but c'mon, that's waaaay better than "help us bow down to the statues of Oklahoma"! We still have work to do but I'm counting that as a step in the right direction.

And by the way, I should use this opportunity to clear up something from Danielle's most recent post. Let it be known that I have never once worn my underpants on my head...
