all mended & matching again

i *think* we are on the mend here in the spencer house (as i hear lily coughing from her bed). it has been a long december...and there's reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last...counting crows anyone? excuse me while i go turn some counting crows on. okay, i'm back. wow, music really draws up a lot of emotions in my heart.

anyway, back to our "long december". lily is much better. she took antibiotics for 10 days to clear up her UTI. the day after starting her antibiotics all her good sleep habits, and all of our mostly restful sleep went somewhere far, far away. she slept horribly. she would wake up and fuss and wouldn't go back to sleep for over a week. and her naps were terrible as well. shaun and i were very tired to say the least. it could have been antibiotics, teething, snotty nose, or who knows what. but she seems to be working her way back to pleasant sleep. she also had her kidney ultrasound and catheter x-ray test (not sure exactly what it's called)last friday. she didn't like any part of it but overall she did great. the results of the test were all normal and her UTI is cleared up. praise the Lord!

eva is also feeling much better after being sick. she vomited the night of her birthday, all through the night and half of the next day. she also had a fever and chills. she pretty much laid on the couch for two days and didn't eat anything. and i did A LOT of laundry and scrubbing barf off of various parts of our living room and eva's bedroom. but she is back to her old self again. praise the Lord!

i could go on about all the challenges that december has brought to us but i won't. i will just say that as always God has given us the strength to make it through whatever comes our way. we are very blessed and thankful for two healthy girls, an incredible marriage, warm home, a christmas tree with far too many presents under it, and even a warm fuzzy cat curled up next to me.

completely unrelated, here are the girls in their matching dresses.

and with that i leave you, to go rock out to counting crows. man, they are awesome.
