it's thursday. random thoughts, random pictures. just some things you need to know.

1. so i'll just lay it out there. we started cloth diapering a couple weeks ago. i never thought in a million years i would do cloth diapers. shaun was ready to do it when eva was a baby, but i said NO WAY. well there are three things that helped change my mind (besides the obvious fact that it thrilled my nearly green husband):

a. i could save a lot of money.
b. it is very environmentally friendly.
c. i like ordering things online and getting things in the mail. and i got to spend LOTS of time researching and ordering cloth diapers online. and then wouldn't you know, they came in the mail. did i mention that i LOVE getting things in the mail? i'm serious, send me something, i will love it. especially if it's money. i'm just saying.

so far, if one can "love" cloth diapering, i suppose i do. i am learning the fine art of dunking poopy diapers in the toilet and being careful to not let go of the diaper when i flush. and lily doesn't seem to mind her knew larger and more volumptuous booty. she has taken it all in stride. so there you have it, we are now a family of the cloth, so to speak.

2. don't you just love the theme song to the jefferson's: movin' on up, to the east side...

3. speaking of movin' on up...shaun is being installed as our associate pastor this sunday night. right now he is the assistant pastor. now there is only one spot left to move into. if we can only figure out how to get mike, our pastor, out of there we shaun can take over the church. i'm only kidding...maybe...

4. i'm drinking coffee today. i need coffee today. lily needs to learn to sleep all night. all night long. i kind of like it, the coffee, that is. not sleep deprivation, i don't like that at all.

5. eva has started to sing her prayer before meals. i wish i had it recorded. it is the funniest thing EVER. here is the same prayer word for word that she says every time: "jesus for this food, help eva to obey, amen." she always leaves out the "thank you" part. this week she started singing and she was serious as a door knob. and that is pretty serious. like dead as a door knob, and that is serious too. dead door knobs are a real tragedy.

6. remember the crepe myrtle shaun got for his birthday? it is so beautiful. we can sit at our dining room table and look out at it in all of its blooming glory.

7. lily has started solids this past week. she seems eager to eat anything that comes near her mouth. the bananas went down the hatch well, but clogged up the pipes at the end. two days and a bit of prunes later the pipes are cleared out and ready for action. or something like that. isn't she just adorable?

8. last week out of sheer boredom eva and i took some self-portraits. daddy came home during the portrait session. eva took this one.

9. aren't we quite the trio. we pretty much look like this everyday. like we are just about to fall right off the edge of life, or at least i am. hair messy, each one of us looking in a different direction, and looking tired. if "ho-hum" came to life it would look like this.

10. eva is into baby-wearing. she wanted to wear one of my carriers with her doll in it. that doll is nearly newborn life size. it weighs 5 lbs. she didn't last long. i mean eva didn't last long, the doll didn't care and was later dragged down the hallway by one arm.

11. she is crazy. i am going crazy. going...going...gone!

Ok you guys, I might loose MY
job from laughing so hard and out
loud. The pictures are so cute. By the way everyone, I am the one that bought him that beautiful crepe myrtle for his birthday. Mother-in-laws have such good
ideas and he is still my favorite son-in-law. When Danielle was born, we were in college or rather her dad was, our dryer was half in the living room, the other half in the kitchen. I refused to have clothe diapers. See the change it made in her life!

  7. Wow! I never would have pegged you as a cloth diaperer.... but then I never would have thought I would cloth diaper either...
    But here we are...

Although I also love researching and ordering things online, so this must be what dragged us in! ;)

Anyway, after cloth dipaering for 13 months now, I'm dying to know what you settled on for diapers and how you are liking them...
