a
bountiful harvest. a mini harvest. so far, the garden has brought forth 3 delicious tomatoes (two were eaten by us and one went rotten), one bucket of pole beans that were cooked and not eaten, blueberries that were thoroughly enjoyed by the birds, and strawberries that were feasted on by slugs. we are still waiting with eager anticipation on the long awaited zucchini and yellow squash *fingers crossed*!

It's not the destination, it's the journey.

and also,
Two fine tomatoes in hand are better than a bucket full of rotten peaches.

Always something funny to say to keep me laughing!
ReplyDeleteI hope this doesn't deter you from trying again next year.
Each year is a learning experience for me.
We have zuchinni and butternut squash growing right now, and we enjoyed strawberries in June.
But my raspberry and blueberry plants were disappointing. When I ordered them, I naively thought they would arrive big, bushy and beautiful and yield fruit the first year.
On the contrary, they arrived mere sproutlets and have only grown some pitiful little leaves. It'll probably be years before I get any fruit.

At least you have some tomatoes! We have blooms but no fruit!
ReplyDeleteWe went out to pick blackberries and they are either dried up or the birds have gotten them.
