random pregnancy thoughts while "patiently" waiting...

so the little baby ticker to the right says "3 days to go!". this really means nothing in the real world. anyway, while i continue waiting for this baby to come, in who knows how many days, here are some random thoughts about pregnancy from the past 9 months:

  • morning sickness is horrible.
  • spaghetti is much better going down than coming back up.
  • strawberry smoothies are good going down and surprisingly not that bad coming back up.
  • gaining weight is going to happen, and in larger quantities than i would like so now at the end i have decided not to fight it.
  • telling someone they are looking "plump" when pregnant is not necessarily a compliment, even if it is meant that way. (this actually didn't offend me and i have had a great time teasing the person who said it to me.)
  • another thing that shouldn't be said to a pregnant gal is: "you have gotten even bigger since i saw you last". yes, pregnant people do get bigger, but you shouldn't say this when the last time you saw that pregnant person was 2 DAYS prior.
  • and when comparing 2 pregnant ladies, it should be left unsaid, whether true or not, that the person farther along in pregnancy looks smaller than you do.
  • when visiting the doctors office, i personally think it is a cruel, cruel trick to make a pregnant gal pee in a cup at every visit. at first it's no big deal, but once your tummy is sticking out so far, you CANNOT see what you are doing. this can be somewhat disastrous. all i can say is i hope the nurse who gets my "specimen" from the inside of that neat little door in the wall wears gloves. come to think of it, i guess the joke's on her! also, i am thankful for good doctor's office soap and water.
  • it is so nice and thoughtful when a very sweet and very good friend sends you to get a pedicure because she knows you can't reach your toes. and now my toes look GOOD. i think they will be my focal point during delivery... maybe.
  • not many random thoughts, but the last one is: I AM READY TO GET THE SHOW ON THE ROAD!

Danielle, when your mom had you I had no idea how it would change our family. But as soon as I heard your name, before I saw you, I loved you dearly. Now I know what to expect and can't wait to meet Lily Grace.
God sure is good to us! You all are in our prayers.

  2. I know you must be SOOO READY! I always had hopes mine would come early (and they never did) It is so hard in these last few days with every day that goes by that labor hasn't started. We can't wait to hear the news! And thanks for the laughs! It reminds me of the reasons why I do not miss being pregnant! :)

  3. Hang in there. I loved being only 6 1/2 mos pregnant and having a man ask me if I was having twins. It's all funny unless you're the one being critiqued constantly :)
