double standards: blogging
i have a double standard when it comes to the blogging world. i would prefer that everyone out there, who has a blog that i read, and there are A LOT of them, that you update your blog several times a week, with at least one picture, of good quality, and something moving or witty to say. and also, while i'm stating my preferences, let's keep the family reunion posts to a minimum, i mean, how many hundreds of pics to we need to see of you and all of your relatives? seriously. unless it's a cool picture of your great uncle bob who has an eye patch and decides to give you a little peek at what that patch is hiding: now that is blog worthy. now, the double standard: i will update my blog when i feel good and ready. maybe once a week, maybe more, and possibly less. but i expect something different from other bloggers, thus the "double" in double standard. what's the point in having a blog when you go months on end without updating it? you are taking up precious internet space! and who knows how much we even have left? what will we do when all the internet space is taken up? think about the children, people, what will be left for them? just another thing to worry about in our troubling world. in summary, just keep in mind, i am on one side of the standard, the rest of the world is on the other.

i totally agree! i KNOW you are talking about Johanna and Marta too, they have not posted since May!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little afraid of you right now, danielle, so I'm going to go make a new blog post to make you happy.
ReplyDeleteLet's just say that you and me...we're on the same page...or blog, if you will. I have very high expectations of others in the blog world and no expectations of my personal bloggin'! It's my bloggin' business anyway!
ReplyDeletejust wait until you have more than one child - then you will understand why the rest of us have such a hard time keeping up! I remember when I first started mine I told people..."it's so easy to update - it only takes a few minutes" - well, that may be true, but I have to think of it first! I'll try to do better :) (not even sure if you ever look at mine, anyway!)

whoa, friend. i'm with jennifer...you are scaring me a little! (prego hormones again?!?) hey, go easy on the family reunion blog posts. we've got some very faithful blog checkers (aka family) and when we see them once a year they are expecting to see their face on the blog...yes, all 32 of them in every combination we can think of !!!
ReplyDeleteyou and your double standard crack me up!
mjj
My precious daughter, you have way too much time on your hands. I don't know why you didn't become a stand up comedian instead of a pastors wife.

NOW I know why you only post once every few weeks...
ReplyDeleteBecause when you finally do, you get a MILLION comments!!! :)
And about the relatives and family reunions....for all I know, the only people that even check my blog are family (because I hardly EVER get any comments!!! cough, cough) :)
So if family are the only ones reading/interested, then Yeah! I'm gonna post a bunch of them. It makes their day, ya know? -- old people seeing themself on the IN-TER-NET! They are BLOWN AWAY!!! :)
So I guess what I'm saying is - I'm blogging for THEM! It's not my fault if you choose to read it and are bored to tears! :)
So pipe down, you! :)
And post more often, why don't you! :)
Love you!!!!

Danielle, you are a bad person. Btw, I ripped off your bathtub pick and will be posting it on Olyvia's blog soon.
