nyc & then some

okay, so here is the quick version of what has been going on with the spencer family. the weekend after graduation we took a trip to visit aiken, sc for an interview with new covenant presbyterian church. the people were wonderful and we loved the town. they offered shaun the position while we were there and he accepted (assistant pastor). we are currently packing and will be leaving st. louis on friday (insert sobs and uncontrollable crying here). i am so stinking sad to leave my friends here!! anyway, we are excited about these new changes, and shaun is especially excited which makes me very happy.

this past weekend was spent in nyc (just me and shaun) for shaun's best friend, justin's, wedding. many, many thanks to nanny & jessie for coming to stl and taking such good care of eva, we are forever grateful! shaun and i had an amazing time in nyc. if you haven't been you must go! we had amazing food, spent time with great friends (vicki & charlie, blake & philip, justin & anita, and last but not least, my new best friend ann curry- see picture below!) we were able to catch the very end of the today show (a dream of mine) and i was able to meet ann curry and have my picture taken with her. i also had the opportunity to say something very lame "hi ann, you're my favorite!" although i have heard dumber things said to celebrities, and if you know or ever meet our friend matt kickasola ask him about tim robbins in the men's restroom. anyway, back to nyc, shaun and i saw a lot and walked a lot, rode the subway a lot, ate a lot, and even saw a couple rats! the wedding was also beautiful.

so in a nutshell, we have been soooo busy the last 2 months. maybe life will slow down soon, who knows. by the way, i also have a new email address. spencercasa@gmail.com. write us, or better yet, come see us in aiken, we now have a 3rd bedroom and your own bathroom!!

a very smelly cab driver. imagine being stuck in the back seat, the windows rolled up, the ac on full blast and a cab driver who possibly hasn't shower since last summer with his arm propped up across the seat, with the ac forcefully blowing by him to the back seat. gag a maggot.
