life in aiken, sc ("the south")

okay, so here is the update and a few totally boring pictures of our new apartment (the pictures are mostly for missy, to save her a trip to aiken to beat me up for not posting them on the blog already). things are going great. we love the church and especially the people. everyone has been so wonderful and welcoming. the town is small but has nearly all the important restaurants and even a "mall" (please note the sarcasm regarding the mall). the mall is dinky. i call it a sampler platter mall. kind of like a sampler platter in a restaurant: you get a little bit of a few things from the menu, not a little bit of everything from the menu. anyway, it will probably save us money with the lack of stores. oh, and there is no starbucks in the mall, in fact the only starbucks in the entire town is in kroger grocery store. very sad, but again saving me money and calories. the weather is very hot and humid, much like other parts of the country. eva and i have spent some time at the apartment pool. we have also gone to toddler time at the local community center. i have met some other moms, which has been nice. but as always, i still miss atherton and st. louis! shaun is loving his job, but it is taking some time to get used to the differences in organization in the church office. so, to summarize a very choppy and not well put together paragraph that would make an english teacher slap me upside the head, come visit us in aiken!!!

I think Eva was trying to tell you all in the above video, "I want to go back to STL, folks."
