eva update

if you are just here for pictures, just scroll down past the eva fluff, if not enjoy my ramblings.

i feel like it has been a while since i have given an update on eva. amazingly she is about to turn 17 months old! she is changing so much every day, it is so much fun. she has had constant ear infections over the past 5 months so tomorrow we will have tubes put in her ears. i am really hoping this cuts down on the ear infections and the whining! we'll see... anyway, here are some new eva facts:

  • she just FINALLY started walking. to say that she is a cautious child is an understatement. she still wants to hold one of our fingers when she walks, and not just any finger, it has to be an index finger. that should speak to her pickiness.
  • speaking of pickiness, she could probably survive on fruit and cheese. she only likes water in her sippy cup, and she will only drink milk from a bottle, heated, if we hold it.
  • she has started to say more words: teeth, nose, eye, shoe, keys, eat, hi, bye, etc.
  • she loves to have her teeth brushed. after her night time bottle, she pushes the bottle away and says "teeth" (with a silent th on the end).
  • she now has a total of 8 teeth (still only two on the bottom, 6 on top. shaun says she has a david letterman smile. i hope she keeps it!)
  • she loves to look at books (see pictures below)
  • she just learned how to climb on the couch and get in her rocking chair by herself.
  • she REALLLY knows how to throw a fit.
  • she is a daddy's girl. (this hurts my feelings, except when it is 2:30 a.m. and she only wants daddy to rock her)
  • she loves to hear me sing (and yes, her hearing was just tested this week, and it's normal. maybe not for long if i keep singing).
  • overall, she is a beautiful and amazing child and i don't know what we would do without her!
