six months old tomorrow!

i can't believe eva is going to be 6 months old already! pretty exciting. time has gone by quickly and eva has grown and changed fast. she has already grown 8 or 9 inches since birth! she is pretty tall for her age. she continues to amaze us at how much she has learned and all the new things she is doing. of course it doesn't surprise us, like shaun is always saying "she is a super-genious." he hasn't quite got her playing the cello yet, but i'm sure it will happen soon!

eva was baptized on mother's day. it was a very special day. shaun cried and i called him a big bawl baby; i didn't cry and he called me cold hearted, aren't we sensitive to each other! we had my mom and shaun's mom here to celebrate the occasion (not the name calling, just the baptism). when the pastor walked eva up and down the aisle she had her eyes and mouth wide open smiling at everyone. many people have mentioned to me how funny she was. she loves new situations. i'm sure that will change soon, but hopefully not.

eva has started solids. she "tolerates" fruits and all veggies that aren't green. she pretty much hates any meats. i don't blame her though, they smell like cat food. strangely enough, our cat charlie loves it. charlie has been "helping" feed eva. somehow he comes out of hiding every time i open a jar of baby food. he definitely provides entertainment for eva while she eats. grandma carson will love this picture!

eva has also stared swimming with me at a friends pool. well, she floats more than she swims, but she seems to like it. we go swimming and walking with our good friends and neighbors across the hall. they have a daughter who is 2 months older than eva. i think they will be good little friends.

overall eva is very happy and very healthy. we have been blessed these 6 months with a healthy girl who hasn't gotten sick at all. we are also blessed because she is so happy and vibrant. she is always smiling with her big mouth wide open. she seems to love to watch and observe people.

i can't wait to see what the next six months hold!
